Rappelling Areas

Sometimes people don't necessarily want to descend a slot-canyon due to various reasons, but they do want a quick and easy to access place to practice their canyoneering skills, especially when it comes to rappelling.

These areas are good for practice sessions with your friends, loved-ones, and groups before the "big day".  This will allow everyone's nerves and jitters to be settled, allows a resharpening of skills that may not have been used for awhile, and as a canyon leader, it allows you to evaluate everyone's canyoneering skill level.  That could be helpful when it comes to "...maybe John or Ashley isn't a good fit for this canyon.  They have a very hard time rappelling, let get of their braking often too easily, and the approach to this cliff-face was too exhausting for them."  That way you won't get caught off guard when you are actually IN the canyon.  That's called wisdom.
